Presenting the Blog Importer: A Straightforward Three-Step Tool
We are thrilled to launch the Blog Importer, an easy-to-use 3-step tool allowing you to effortlessly import blog posts from any CMS. You can conveniently map fields such as titles, categories, and authors with a single link, then decide whether to publish or save as a draft.
😇 Essential Features:
- Simple 3-Step Process – Append the blog URL and the most recent blog’s URL for content preview and scan. Note: In case of iframe blockage, the blog post preview might not be visible, but the functionality will remain intact.
- Mapping Breakdown – You can map the blog title, category/tag, featured images, date of publishing, content, and author directly from the preview.
- Review and Publish – Validate your content and publish it whenever you’re ready! 🙂
Pre-usable checks:
Before starting, make sure the blog contains a sitemap for posts. For instance, for a blog located at blog.abc.com, verify blog.abc.com/sitemap.xml for a sitemap.
Operating Instructions:
Step 1: Get Your Import Ready
- Proceed to Sites > Blog
- Click on the blog name
- Go to New Post > Import Blog Post
- Add the blog URL and the latest published blog post URL
- Choose the site you’re importing from
Tip: After the setup, you can return to check the “Scan in Progress” status in the “Imported Content” section.
Step 2: Map Your Content
Select the blog title, date of publishing, author name, content, and category/tag. Note: In case the mapping is incorrect, you can manually select the CSS selector (see: CSS Selectors).
Step 3: Import Your Content
Post scraping (generally takes 10-20 minutes for 1,000 posts), you can import each post individually or en mass. Note: All posts will initially be imported as drafts.
Our Recommendation:
Remember to preview your blog post prior to publishing it live.
