The security of your account and data is our top priority and we are continuously strengthening security to prevent any potential breaches. While enhanced security is a welcome change, it might cause some disruptions to your existing API workflows.
To help you navigate these changes at your own pace, we are giving you the control to activate it with a new configuration under Company Settings called ‘Enhanced Account Security’. Starting today, May 22, 2024, you can activate it by logging into your agency admin account, navigating to Company under Settings and enabling Enhanced Account Security.
Enabling it will enforce the following security updates to your account:
1. Disable Auto-generation of Location API keys: To enhance account security, API keys will not be automatically generated when you create a new location via API or our user interface (UI). Instead, you will need to generate them manually through the UI.
2. Exclude API Keys in Location CRUD APIs: Previously, you could access API keys via the Location CRUD APIs responses. Going forward, you will need to log in and retrieve the keys directly from the UI.
After two weeks, on Jun 5, 2024, Enhanced Account Security will be automatically enabled across all agency accounts.
If absolutely necessary, you may reactivate the two insecure API options by disabling ‘Enhanced Account Security’ option under Company Settings. Please note that we strongly recommend at Connectly you do not disable it.
