Custom Objects are now available for use in workflows!

This highly anticipated feature allows users to design workflows that are specific to custom objects, enabling a seamless workflow trigger based on any changes concerning the custom objects. You can now automate your processes by delineating certain actions that are to be carried out whenever custom object-related triggers are activated.

What’s New?

– Custom Object Workflows: You can now create workflows that are particular to your custom objects, such as Homes, Cars, Pets, etc.
– Trigger Workflows with Custom Object Events: This feature allows you to automate processes by setting up powerful triggers that are specific to your custom objects.
– Perform Targeted Actions: You can now clearly outline actions related to specific objects, such as creating, updating, or clearing custom object records. Plus, get them integrated with other digital tools.

How it Works?

– Access the Workflow Landing Page and click on ‘Create Workflow’.
– Select the Object-based Workflow that you want to configure.
– Customize your workflow with the relevant triggers and actions.

Use Case

Suppose a real estate agency utilizes a custom object named “Home” to keep a track of home listings. When the Home Status field is changed to “Closed” (indicating that the property has been sold), the agency wants to automate the next steps which comprise of updating records and documenting sales data.

Trigger:

– Object Changed: The workflow is triggered when the Home Status field in the “Home” object is altered to “Closed”.

Workflow Actions:

– Update Associated Object: The associated object linked to the sold property can be updated using this feature (for instance, “Agent”).
– Add a Row to Google Sheets: The Google Sheets Integration allows you to document the sale in a central document for further tracking and reporting.
– Clear a Field in the Object or Associated Object: The temporary Notes and Internal Comment custom fields no longer required can be cleared using this feature.
