Custom Messaging Limits for Agencies with Alert Notifications

Overview

We are introducing the ability for agencies to configure custom messaging limits based on either the number of messages or the number of segments sent. This feature gives more configurability between how messaging limits are set (based on SMS) and how charges are calculated (based on segments), helping clients avoid unexpected costs and better manage their usage and update limits for their clients without any involvement from support. Effective immediately, this feature will be available for all sub-accounts using the Native Phone System.

Key Updates

New Setting Option

Agencies can now choose to set custom daily/monthly messaging limits on either the number of messages or segment basis.

Instant Updates

In the event a sub-account reaches their sending limit, all associated users will be alerted via a banner on the Phone Numbers page informing that the account has reached their messaging limit. Furthermore, an email alert will be sent to the configured emails when a sub-account has reached its limit.

Access Control

Only agency owners and admins have the ability to modify this setting. However, this is subject to the agency having been active for at least three months and not being in a trial period.

Visibility

This setting can be accessed under the Messaging Limit section of Advanced Settings of the Phone Numbers tab.

Note

If a sub-account reaches their messaging limit, all messages will fail for the remainder of the day, unless the limit is increased.
