Enhanced Contact Association with Custom Labels and Multiple Links

New Feature Introduction

This feature update is all about enhancing the way you connect contacts on Connectly. You can now establish more complex relationships between contacts by attaching multiple contacts via custom labels. This new feature allows users to link contacts in a variety of ways such as Parent-Child, Spouse, Business Partner, and more.

What’s New?

  • Custom Contact Associations:Users now have the opportunity to connect two or more contacts using custom labels such as “Parent,” “Spouse,” or “Business Partner.” Other set pairs of labels like “Husband-Wife”, “Manager-Employee” are also available.
  • Multiple Associations:Contacts can now have multiple associations. Users can affiliate up to 10 custom labels per contact relationship.
  • View Linked Contacts:A new addition has been made to the contact details view, a section that displays all linked contacts according to the labels of their associations. This provides an overview of relationships between contacts.
  • Manage Association Labels:Completing this update, users are now able to manage labels, establish new associations, and remove or modify existing labels, giving complete control over contact relationships.

How to Use:

1. Creating Associations:

The following steps will guide admins through establishing associations:

Firstly, navigate to Settings > Objects > Contacts and click on “+ Create Association.” to create a custom label.

Next, decide between a individual label or pair of labels (e.g., Manager-Employee) and click Save.

The new labels can be edited or deleted using the kebab menu (three vertical dots).

2. Linking and Viewing Linked Contacts:

After creating associations, it is time to link contacts and view the linked contacts:

Open the details page of a contact and navigate to the “Associations” section on the right panel.

Click “Add” next to Contacts to start linking another contact.

Choose the contact to link and select the appropriate labels for the relationship.

The linked contact will now show up in the contact’s details, and the linked contact will also display the relationship on their end.

What’s Next?

  • Enhanced Workflow Actions for Associated Contacts:Be ready for future updates that will widen workflows to accommodate more activities for linked contacts, such as automated contact creation and updates.
  • Conversations with Linked Contacts:Soon, managing conversations with associated contacts will be even simpler. You will be able to CC multiple linked contacts in emails or SMS and reference custom fields in messages.
