We’re excited to announce a new way for our clients to respond effectively to messaging problems. We’ve added a new workflow trigger specifically designed to handle specific error codes. This will give businesses the ability to run automated workflows whenever an SMS results in an ‘undelivered’ status and returns one of the select error codes.
The new feature will be available for both Native Phone and Twilio accounts. Here are those error codes that will be included in the initial release of this feature:
- 30007 – Carrier Violation
- 30034 – A2P Registration Pending on Number
- 30032 – Toll Free Number not Verified
- 30005 – User Inactive/Number doesn’t exist
- 30003 – Number Unreachable/Out of Service
- 30004 – Recipient has DND enabled
- 30006 – Number is a Landline/Incapable of receiving SMS
Trigger Name
Messaging Error – SMS
Trigger Description
The new trigger will activate a workflow based on the error received for an undeliverable message. This can be used to clean up the contact list and ultimately improve delivery rates.
How to Configure
Follow these steps to configure the new feature:
Step 1: Choose a Workflow Trigger – In the dropdown list, select “Messaging Error – SMS”.
Step 2: Name the Workflow Trigger – Be descriptive so you can easily distinguish it in your workflow.
Step 3: Using Filters – You have the option to use filters to narrow down the trigger to specific error codes. When adding a filter, you can, for example, exclusively choose a particular error code such as “30007 – Carrier Violation”.
Step 4: Implement Conditional Responses – With the new feature, you can set up conditional responses to different error codes. For instance, if one error code has a certain impact on delivery, you can set up a certain response. Conversely, if another code has a different impact, you can set up a different response.
