The Canonical Links feature now allows users to enhance their SEO strategies by incorporating canonical links to a specific category and author. This feature is designed to elevate search engine rankings and resolve duplicate content issues by indicating the preferred version of a page.
Benefits:
- SEO optimization: Incorporating canonical links aids in SEO improvement by amalgamating link equity and guiding search engines towards the principal version of a page. This is potentially beneficial for search rankings and heightened visibility of your content.
- Duplicate content prevention: Canonical links, when set by users, can circumvent issues associated with duplicate content that could have a negative impact on SEO. This feature assists in preserving the integrity of your website content in search engine results;
- Enhanced website performance: With the Canonical Links feature, users can boost their website’s performance by effectively communicating with search engines about the preferred version of a page. This can lead to increased efficiency in crawling and indexing.
How to Use:
Follow these steps to add canonical links to the blog category and authors:
- Navigate to Sites > Blogs;
- Click on the name of Blog;
- In the blog list, there will be a three-dot option beside the New Post option to select the Canonical Settings;
- You can set the Canonicals Settings for Blog, Category, and Author.
Note: We have removed the tags pages from the sitemap to mitigate duplication of content. In the future, we plan to enable users to add canonical links for tags.
