What’s New?
We’re excited to introduce one of the most highly anticipated features from the IdeasBoard, Pause Workflows on chosen dates. This new feature allows you to suspend selected workflows or all workflows within a certain date range. Furthermore, you can designate date ranges as “Annually”, which will automatically pause the same workflows on these days each year.
How it Works
The Pause Workflow option is a new addition to the Global Workflow Settings. Here, users can input up to 15 date ranges and select multiple or all workflows to suspend. Any workflows that are paused will operate as though they are in a “Draft” state. Plus, you can access the pause details directly within each individual workflow’s builder settings for ease of tracking.
How to Use It?
First, navigate to Global Workflow Settings. From there, select the “Start Date” and “End Date”. Then choose the workflows from the list of available workflows. You have the option to select either “All” or “Individual workflows”. If you want the workflows to be paused on the same dates every year, tick the “Annually” checkbox. To duplicate or delete a row, use the “Clone” or “Delete” icons. Finally, click on “Save” to apply all changes.
Use Case
This feature could be particularly useful if you wish to suspend workflows over certain holiday periods. For instance, you may want to stop sending communications to customers from December 25th to January 2nd. To do this, merely select the date range, decide which workflows to pause, and then save your settings.
Point to be Noted
It’s worth noting that there’s a maximum allowed 15 day period between the start and end dates. Furthermore, a workflow should not be a part of two or more overlapping date ranges. Lastly, this Pause feature is only accessible to those with Admin roles.
